Led by this guiding philosophy and driven by a dynamic approach, Kapil Wadhawan has earned sobriquets such as ‘Accommodation Times Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award’ (2002), while his company got the Best Housing Finance Company of the Year (2001). Post graduation, Kapil joined Dewan Housing Finance Limited (DHFL) as Executive Director, moving up to Managing Director, then Chief Managing Director, in quick succession. Under his leadership, DHFL has into an organization oriented towards Customer Focus, Cutting-Edge Technology, Corporate Governance, and Industry Best Practices. Consequently, DHFL has achieved a series of successful milestones – attaining the $400 million ++ mark in loan disbursals, acquisition of the housing loan division (VBHL) of Ing-Vysya Bank (the first private sector HFC to acquire stake in a banking subsidiary), establishing strategic alliances with prestigious organizations such as IFC and ADB, and industry market leaders such as Birla SunLife Insurance, and forays into related green field sectors such as real estate venture capital, mortgage finance, retail and hospitality, among others. Kapil Wadhawan has completed MBA (Finance) program from Edith Cowan University, Perth, Australia. He has represented industry interests at various forums – as Member, Panel Spokesperson – across prominent industry associations such as CII, CREDAI, FICCI, MCHI, IMC, and BMA among others. By his own admission, he holds activities of the Shri Rajesh Kumar Wadhawan Foundation set up by him – aiming to provide social outreach initiatives for senior citizens, women empowerment, child literacy and natural disaster relief, among others – as his most cherished personal achievement.

Gaurav is the Founder CEO of Wadhawan Holdings Private Limited, the holding entity for the Wadhawan Group. At 34 years, he is one of the youngest leaders in the group with a successful track record of handling diverse roles in finance, general management, information technology and investment banking. He is a graduate chemical engineer with a post graduate degree in management with a specialization in finance.
Under the leadership of Gaurav Modwel, Wadhawan Holdings has been responsible for transforming the group from a single company entity into a group with diversified interests in various sectors.
The key achievement of Gaurav in the last three years has been his ability to successfully drive change and growth. Change for creating that enabling environment which is necessary for embarking upon growth. In the initial years with the group, Gaurav was a part of the management team which remodeled DHFL into a professionally run outfit with new systems and thoughts.
He continues to spearhead various developmental initiatives organization-wide, be it in business development, finance, planning, budgeting, performance management and new product development.
RAMAN MACKER, Director
With his media savvy PR & networking skills, Raman Macker is undoubtedly the public face of Dish Hospitality. Raman had an early start in life, hailing from an industrialist family with a strong presence in the automotive and engineering sector. Fueled by a visionary value proposition, Raman went on to promote ‘indiamarkets.com’, the leading B-2-B portal, and was responsible for Business Development (Western Region). He built on to his repertoire for driving ticketno1.com, a fast track online B-2-C ticketing solutions provider. Raman is responsible for driving ticketno1.com’s initiatives in Strategic Alliances, Market Development and Finance. Recently, he ventured into the World Cinema realm as Producer of “Being Cyrus”, a critically acclaimed motion picture, staring high profile Bollywood actors such as Saif Ali Khan, Naseeruddin Shah and Dimple Kapadia, co-produced in association with media conglomerate Times Infotainment India. Raman Macker has completed his Bachelors in Business Administration, majoring in Finance, from the University of Maryland, USA. Thereafter, he obtained a Diploma in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship (SMEP) for the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India.
VICKY SINGH, Director
Vicky Singh is the culinary and operational spirit of Dish Hospitality, heading the F+B operations of its flagship projects – Rain Bar + Eatery, Rock Bottom, and Quila. In a remarkably short span of time, his entrepreneurial and market savvy skills have established Vicky Singh as a maverick on the Indian F+B scene. In December 1999, with the launch of ‘Out of the Blue’, Vicky made a tremendous market statement, introducing first of its kind culinary concepts such as Fondue & Flambé to the Indian dining scenario; in January 2001, he followed it up with ‘Blue-by-U’, an upscale nouvelle dining experience with a vegetarian focus. Vicky Singh is a graduate from the prestigious School of Hospitality and Hotel Management at the University of North London, UK. Training stints at the prestigious Grosvenor House and St. James Court hotels in London have added to his vast knowledge of the world class hospitality experience.
GAURAV BATRA, Director.
Heading a portfolio that encompasses Creative + Design, Corporate Development and Finance, Gaurav Batra completes the Dish Hospitality team. Based in San Francisco since 1998, Gaurav moved back to Bombay in end -2001, fuelled by a vision to introduce innovate leisure and lifestyle concepts to the relatively nascent but high potential Indian market. Gaurav brings to Dish Hospitality his invaluable experience as VP- Corporate Development at 'petroleum.com' a premier B-2-B marketplace for petroleum products, based in San Francisco, USA. Subsequently, he went on to establish the Risk Management & Trading desk at the high growth, niche-market player Chemoil Corporation, San Francisco. Gaurav Batra graduated top of the batch in the Masters in Business Management (MBA) program at the Asian Institution of Management, Manila, Philippines, in 1998. His majors included General Management, International Finance, Economics and Strategy Formulation. His hobbies include literature, scuba diving, meditation and music.
